Semanterion Gin in the essence of a 40-years old journey. A journey through different cultures, perfumes and flavours of distant worlds. Travelling brings with itself the joy of coming back home, back to the roots. Here come the absinthe, the milk thistle together with juniper berries merging with exotic spices like cardamom, subbed pepper, pimenta, coriander berries and fresh ginger roots.
Semanterion Gin is a sign of affection and love from Tonek Pripichek to his sons. 3 versions are available, each dedicated to a son according to their date of birth: Spring, Summer, Autumn and they are indeed characterised by the botanicals typical of each season.
Semanterion Gin comes to life after a long-life journey in order to accomplish a project, which is both phisical, material and spiritual too. It was born in a family whose roots are profounded connected to the production of vermouth and liquors since the World War II. Nonetheless, it is also thanks to the alchemist Fabrizio Zara and the Santa Massenza Master Distiller that Semanterion Gin came the life.
After various attempts and tastings we eventually found our secret recipe. Spices and citrus are hand-cutted, dried and ground directly by the producer Tonek Pripicheck in his lab room and then put together in the alambic.
THE BIRTH OF SEMANTERION GIN
Semanterion Gin sees the light in Santa Massenza, where the master distiller Alessandro Poli uses a slower process charaterized by a bain-marie distillation in order to achive a more elegant and refined gin.
TIME FLIES. STOP AND LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF SEMANTERION. SEMANTERION GIN: LET'S NOT MISS OUT ON THE BEAUTIFUL THINGS.
Tonek is very close to the meditation art and the Indian philosophy, thanks to his numerous travels around the world, to the various musical instruments he plays and the energy he feels.
This special and inner connection to India and its symbols can also be seen in the rear etiquette of the bottle charachterized by a Mandala with an eye placed in the middle: the Eye, the energetic centre who opens up to a wider perception of the reality. The Eye is like an open book, where you can also fell into, feel emotions and catch visions; at the same time it is also a mirror where you can see reflected your life and emotions.
Here Tonek has placed the eyes of his sons.
The sound of Semanterion
Semanterion: it is an ancient percussion instrument with Byzantine origins, made of a wooden table sustained by a chain. It is known for its liturgical use during the ancient Greece a.C. In addition to this, when hung in Greek-Orthodox courtyard, its sound announced the beginning of spitirual rituals.
Tonek: only few people know his true identity. His name comes after his predecessors who lived between Poland and the Ancient Empire. He is a musician, a painter, a drinker, a time traveller and now a distiller too. They say that drinking Sematerion Gin could get you in contact with him.
